Horses which have been rehomed
Wavertree Dream
Scooby continues to thrive in every respect and to date there has been no reoccurrence of the Asorturia that plagued him when he first arrived, but then we have adjusted his diet and work routine accordingly which seems to suit his problems. This little horse may not be a 3 day eventer, a grand prix dressage horse or a grade A show jumper but lets face it none of those types can boast a win at Newmarket Racecourse and equally none of them can turn their hand to have a go at all disciplines at the lower level and enjoy doing so. When Scooby arrived here at the sanctuary, because he was so perfectly manne red and obliging in all respects it was quite easy to bypass him and concentrate on the more flamboyant characters in the yard but now that he has got his feet well and truly under the table he is making sure that no-one dare ignore him for one minute. He has decided that he doesn’t like wearing boots in the stable whilst waiting to be turned out in the paddock so he simply pulls them off and throws them over the stable door, he also now knows that if he wants attention and one of us have been silly enough to hang his rug over the door it pays him to pull it very slowly so that we tell him to stop doing that and if we haven’t gone to speak with him by the time the rug is on the stable floor he will belligerently jump up and down on top of it ensuring the end product of getting our attention. It will be a sad day for us when Scooby is re-homed and the time is now coming very close, but to him I’m sure it will simply be yet another adventure he is setting out on.
N.B. Scooby is now with Julia in Surrey where the long term plan is to embark on a low level eventing and dressage career. Julia absolutely adores Scooby and he is revelling in his new found friendship.
