Wavertree Boy
Well, where do I start when it comes to Norbert? Firstly (touch wood) there have been absolutely no problems with any of his legs which is great news and if you could see some of the antics he has been up to you would understand my joy over this as they can be quite spectacular. This chap has such a unique character and I have to say is extremely intelligent hence we have to stay one step ahead of him at all times. We are now riding him lightly which can be equally as spectacular, to the extent that he has created his own specialised movement that we have named the “Caprivade”, no doubt in years to come this will be commonly know simply as the “Norbert”.

For those who don’t know, the Lipizzaner stallions in the Spanish School of Riding carry out what are known as “Airs above the Ground”, one of these movements is called the “Lavarde” and another is called the “Capriole”, well Norbert combines the two at the same time which is how we came up with the name for this particular movement, it really is an experience to witness providing you aren’t too close to him at the time. When Norbert has all four feet on the ground he does some very nice work in that he moves nicely and thoroughly enjoys his hacking, however, when the time comes for re-homing my feeling is that he will need a very competent rider if they are to fulfil his potential. In the mean time it is great fun having him around.
