The Racehorse Sanctuary

Horses which have been rehomed

Sher Royal
Roy is a quality 12-y-o dark bay gelding by Beau Sher out of a mare named Last Royal and stands approximately 16.2hh. After a fairly successful racing career over fences he was re-homed by his then owner Julie who is now a founder Patron of the sanctuary, unfortunately this situation didn’t work out and Roy is now with us at Stonehouse Stables. Having recovered from a recent tendon injury Roy is now back on the road and thoroughly enjoying life, he really is a gentleman and adores anyone who is prepared to make a fuss of him. Roy is now living down on the coast in West Sussex with Sarah who has no ambitions to compete but simply wants to go for long leisurely hacks across the downs and generally fuss over her horse; this will suit Roy down to the ground.
