Secret Jewel
Sweet Pea as we have named her is a 16.2hh, 6-y-o dark bay mare by Hernando out of Opalette and was previously owned by two of our most loyal supporters ,Margaret and Ken from Surrey who managed to purchase her after loosing contact with her some time ago in order to send her here. Having started he racing career on the flat she finished up over hurdles at Towcester just three weeks before she came to us, unfortunately for her during that final race she suffered a damaged tendon hence she will be resting for several weeks before we even consider where to go from here.

What I can say is that she is very attractive and has a smashing nature in that she never argues and is prepared to put up with whatever is asked of her. Although it would be very easy to be put off by the vets findings after his examination when he told us that not only has she damaged her near fore tendon badly but she has also damaged her off fore tendon and is lame on her near hind fetlock and hock joint, that is not the case as I have seen far worse than this come right providing they are given sufficient time and treatment and then go on to lead active and enjoyable lives. One thing is for sure and that is that she will never be short of admirers being the only mare in the yard, needless to say that all of the geldings are constantly smartening themselves up hoping that they will be the one she notices.
