Sanctuary - A Special Horse to Follow
The stunning looking chestnut colt in the photo is a 2-y-o by Dr Fong out of a mare named Wondrous Maid and is owned by one of our Patrons Julie Routledge-Martin. Dougal, as he is called at home, was bred by Julie who intends putting him into training with Bryan Smart soon and his registered name will be Sanctuary.
I find this to be a great honour for our charity and very kind of Julie to think of us when the time came to register his name. Every time he wins, and lets hope it is time and time again, when the winning connections are interviewed our charity could well get a mention. To top it all Julie has promised that a percentage of his winnings will be donated to our charity so let’s hope he ends up as an Epsom Derby winner!
Julie has told me that she will keep me informed as to when and where Sanctuary will be running so I will in turn make sure when possible that I let all of our supporters know. Hopefully we will all be cheering and jumping up and down when he is first past the post.
