Support Group Members Open Day

Sanctuary

On Sunday 23rd May we staged our first support group members open day of 2010 under beautiful blue skies and extremely warm conditions. We had more stalls than ever before, three visitors giving short ridden demonstrations and several new horses for members to meet, but, and it’s a very big but just a handful of people came along to see us which put a bit of a dampener on the whole day. Having said that all that did attend had a thoroughly enjoyable day and it was good for us to catch up with our members and thank them for their continued support.

Luckily all horses were on their best behaviour during the parade and made the most of the pampering that they all received afterwards when everyone went to see them in their stables. Kings Rhapsody with his new keeper Elaine travelled up from Battle in East Sussex to give a short demonstration and he looked an absolute picture, Jack Cairo also made the journey from Hazlemere in Surrey with Sally and he was as impressive as ever and to finish off the day Emma Ayling showed us just what can be achieved with her horse Lady Charlemagne, this pair won the RoR Premier league in 2009 and what a credit they are to the cause.

It is our intention to hold a second open day in September for those who were unable to attend plus invited guests, we will again have many attractions and various horses have been invited to give demonstrations so do come along and visit us if you are able to.
