Royalty meets Rock Legend to make wonderful donation to The Sanctuary

Sanctuary

Having looked at the pictures accompanying this piece and bearing in mind that as with all pictures they far from do the actual article justice you can imagine how thrilled we all were when it came driving down the lane.

We have to thank Debbie Bonham one of our trustees for creating the situation that lead to none other than The Crown Prince of Bahrain making this incredibly generous donation to our charity. Debbie initiated the project via her close friend Robert Plant lead singer of Led Zeppelin who had been asked by The Crown Prince for tickets to his concert at the O2 in London to which Robert said yes subject to a substantial donation being made to The Racehorse Sanctuary, the end product being this super lorry. On top of this incredible donation George Smith of George Smith Horseboxes kindly donated the awning on the side of the vehicle making it possible for us to be in the dry whilst at events with our stand hence giving the lorry the final touch needed to be the finished article.

As you can see it will prove hugely beneficial as a display/show unit to promote the charity but more importantly in an emergency we can now load a horse on site and transport it directly to the vet when in need of urgent medical attention, such peace of mind. On behalf of all concerned with this charity our thanks go to Debbie Bonham, Robert Plant and of course The Crown Prince of Bahrain along with George Smith for making this happen.
