Linda Evans so nearly triumphant
On 5th April Grand National day Linda Evans and her mount Trinity Rose trained by Peter Bowen came agonisingly close to winning The Peoples Race at Aintree beaten by just one combination that being Clare Twemlow on Zabeel Palace trained by Neil King.
Having ridden the almost perfect race on Trinity Rose in which they lead for most of the way it was only in the final furlong that Zabeel Palace managed to put in a late run and be first past the post, in doing so securing £50,000 for their nominated charity.
Thanks to Linda and Trinity Rose both The Racehorse Sanctuary and St Lukes Hospice will soon be £2500 better off as their nominated charity courtesy of the race sponsors John Smiths Brewery.
On behalf of all concerned with this charity we cannot thank Linda enough for her huge effort which raised such needed funds for the centre but also for giving all of us such a thrill on her big day, a big congratulations form all at The Racehorse Sanctuary.
