ANNUAL CONCERT GROWS IN POPULARITY

It all happened on October 14th at the Hurtwood Polo Club home of Kenny Jones drummer of the pop group The Faces.

One of our trustees Debbie Bonham along with her husband Peter and their back up group doubled up with the England cricketer Mark Butcher and staged a wonderful evenings entertainment made up mainly by blues and rock songs. The atmosphere was electric when Debbie and Mark were in full swing and between songs both were very busy promoting the sanctuary.

Throughout the evening one of our volunteers Viv was busy selling t-shirts on behalf of the centre and during the break Debbie acted as auctioneer for several items which although I don’t have the amount as yet I’m sure will have raised a substantial amount of funds. No end of people helped out on the evening ranging from bouncers to raffle ticket seller’s right down to Mary who doggy sat Matty allowing both Sue and I to enjoy a rare evening out. A big thank you goes to all concerned with this function, particularly Debbie, Pete and Mark who made the whole thing possible and who are already working toward next years event.
