Epsom Trainers Open Day
&
Cranleigh Horse Show
Sunday 2nd August was a very busy day for all concerned with the centre in that not only did we have our promotional stand at Cranleigh Horse Show where we were also sponsoring two classes but in addition to this we were parading horses at the Epsom Trainers Open.
Our stand at Cranleigh Horse Show was manned by Pam Tetley a trustee of the charity from 8.30 in the morning through though late afternoon and a very big response and a great deal of interest was received from the public. Both sponsored classes were over subscribed with entries and extremely popular.
The outing to Epsom for the Trainers Open Day was slightly marred by the fact that we had agreed to take Both Wavertree Dream (Scooby) and Anotheroccasion (Albie) along to parade but the day before the event whilst playing in the paddock Shakerattleandroll (Rolo) struck into Albie’s chin causing a swelling exactly where the noseband would normally lay hence he had to stay at home and have a lazy day.
Even so the day went very well and Scooby looked extremely smart in his brand new sanctuary rug giving a very good impression. Richard Hoiles interviewed us which gave me the opportunity to advertise the centre which helps raise awareness to the cause.
By the time the horses were tucked up in bed and the marquees had been dismantled at around 10.30pm believe me everyone was well and truly ready for their beds.
