Announcing the 52nd running of the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell Park >>>

Fontwell Park Racecourse today launches their marketing campaign for the 52nd running of The National Spirit Hurdle, the most prestigious race in Fontwell Park’s calendar.  For 2017 this race is sponsored to the tune of £50,000 by Totesport and the Arena Racing Company has again added £30,000 to the feature race of the day making a very attractive £80,000 prize pot.  Named after the dual winner of the champion hurdle in the 1940s, this is Fontwell Park’s only Class 1 race, the centrepiece of an excellent card of seven races on Sunday 26 February 2017, at the only figure of eight jumps course in the UK.

We are also delighted to announce that The Racehorse Sanctuary will be holding our next major fundraising event that day at Fontwell Park, continuing our long association with the racecourse on National Spirit Hurdle Day.

New Christmas Card now on sale for 2016 >>>

Our new 2016 Christmas Card went on sale for the first time at our Sandown Park raceday.  Popular sporting artist Daniel Crane has very kindly allowed us to use one of his wonderfully atmospheric horse paintings as our card.  The title of the painting is Grateful Thanks, which is very appropriate for the wonderful work done by Graham, Sue and their team, for all the horses in their care.  Demand at Sandown was such that this card is going to prove very popular, so do not delay, place your order now.

Grateful Thanks by Daniel Crane

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year
