Thank you so much to Facebook friend and supporter Charlotte, who is tackling the Robin Hood Half Marathon at the end of September to raise much-needed funds for The Racehorse Sanctuary.
We have a great opportunity to secure the future of our horses by renovating and moving to a new home in West Sussex. Your continued help to make this possible would be fantastic.
Our Charity Raceday at the iconic Jockey Club racecourse at Sandown Park is the social and fundraising highlight of the year for The Racehorse Sanctuary.
The former thoroughbred racehorses in the care of The Racehorse Sanctuary desperately need your help to secure the charity's finances and prevent the loss of a trailblazer in lifetime horse welfare.
If you have kept the date of Sunday 22 February 2015 free in your diary, but have not applied directly to The Racehorse Sanctuary for tickets for yourself, family and friends, you can now do so on-line through the Fontwell Park Racecourse website.

Including the value of donations in kind, the great news is that we have reached a total of over £5,000 towards our target of £8,000 for our Winter Campaign 2017/2018: Please help us to feed these deserving horses through the Winter months. Now though is not the time to rest on your laurels, to meet that target, please keep on donating.Including the value of donations in kind, the great news is that we have reached a total of over £5,000 towards our target of £8,000 for our Winter Campaign 2017/2018: Please help us to feed these deserving horses through the Winter months. Everyone at The Racehorse Sanctuary was absolutely delighted to learn that our Patron Jilly Cooper has been made a Commander of the British Empire in the New Year's Honours: for literature and her work with animal charities. Congratulations Jilly: like you we are thrilled with the news, which rounds off the year, the highlight of which was when you opened the new Peter O'Sullevan High Dependency Unit for us.

Staff at GWR's Oxford Station have a fantastic scheme for raising funds for charity with a small bookshop on Platform 4; a Book Nook really. Passengers waiting for trains are invited to donate to the charity of the month, when they chose any of the books to borrow or retain. Charities to benefit are chosen by ballot from suggestions put forward by staff at the station. With a high footfall, this scheme is a real money-spinner and a huge morale booster for staff, when they see what they have achieved for good causes, encouraged by a generous top-up by the operating company.
