Horses which have been rehomed

Dudley Allen
Deadly Dudley hasn’t had much luck since his arrival here as far as his health is concerned, when he arrived he had a little tickle causing an aggravation in his throat which has spiralled and is now causing considerable concern. At one stage he started coughing frantically particularly when out at grass and when being worked. Carol Clement his previous owner kindly donated a tub of Ventipulmin which we have used a lot in the past and found to be very good but this had little effect. We then put him on a course of antibiotics which helped a little but didn’t cure the problem but when Sue decided that his problem could well be the angle he was eating at when his food was on the ground and tried a hay net at eye level he has gradually improved, unfortunately for him we cannot come up with a paddock that has grass at eye level hence he still suffers a little when grazing but hopefully in time we can find a way around this. Dudley is a smashing chap and his insecurities are very slowly lessening but as with any type of phobia they cannot be hurried and will take time before he is prepared to take any form of risk. In himself Dudley is very well and carrying plenty of condition, he is quite a deep character who needs to be understood and asked rather than told if the outcome is to be in our favour.

N.B. Recently Dudley has been found a super home in Essex along with his friend Freddie. He has a lovely big stable, a choice of well fenced paddocks and is pampered all day long by Carrie and her family.
