Horses at Belmoredean Stud

Arrak
Harry, (yes another Harry) as we call him, is quite a contrast to every other horse here at the centre in that he is a Danish Warmblood who stands approximately 16.1hh and is a young 22 years old. This very well bred horse has had a very full life consisting mainly of dressage but also in veteran classes prior to coming to us. His main claim to fame is being placed 3rd in the veteran riding horse class at the Horse or the Year Show in 2004.

The reason Harry is with us is that with such a turnover of horses and both Albie and Rolo having left us, we need a horse permanently here to accompany the newcomers out hacking just to give them confidence in their new surroundings. This he does magnificently. Although a little stiff first thing in the morning (it takes him a little time to come around from the land of nod) he is very happy and not suffering in any respect. In fact when the tack comes out his face lights up and he is well and truly up for a hack. Harry is a horse who is always prepared to listen if you have a problem that you want to discuss with someone who is guaranteed to agree with you. Believe me this can lead to some very long and in-depth conversations.
